Ardbeg Corryvreckan takes its name from the famous whirlpool that lies to the north of Islay, where only the bravest souls dare to venture. Swirling aromas and torrents of deep, peaty, peppery taste lurk beneath the surface of this beautifully balanced dram. Like the whirlpool itself, Corryvreckan is not for the faint-hearted! Awarded The World’s Best Single Malt in 2010.

This whisky has very strong alcohol, peat, smoked wood and iodine flavor, and you can taste adjective unique and strong impact whisky.
The flavor is like a barrel or smoked wood, and it really is strong.
This whisky is strong taste beyond description. In short, this is an adjective unique.
I recommend drinking it on the rock or with water to you, as ice melts because it becomes more sweet than straight. Still, just because it’s doing, doesn’t mean the original taste is lost.
Also, the high alcohol content is written on the label, but not so much as it isn’t like you don’t feel high alcohol that is written on the label.
In short, this whisky is an adjective unique whisky. 🙂
Personal episode
In a bar to Kyoto, when I told the barman I only drink [Ardbeg 10year] in [Ardbeg series], he suggested this whisky to me.
This whisky is similar to [Laphroaig 10year] in that the first impression. After a while, I again drunk it.
As I was aware of the sweet taste, I like drinking it at one time.
In 2019, I drink an Islay whisky less and less,
But I will drink an Islay whisky, that is the start of writing this article. 🙂
Probably, I like all of the whiskies. 🙂
